The Surf and Activities
The resort has access to several breaks a short boat ride away. We have access to 3 right handers, Pipe…a left hander and others as well as Frigates Passage. If the surf is good then we stay out as long as you can last or we might even go in the morning and then in the afternoon. Frigate Pass is 20km offshore. This is an all day excursion with lunch provided on the boat.
The non surfers are always welcome to go out with the surfers and snorkel, or else they can be taken out separately to snorkel or fish. The non surfers are well catered for with other activities – our Activities Manager, Kevu, will show you some great snorkelling spots, or will take you up nearby creeks on the kayaks or stand up paddle boards. You could just relax by the pool, have a massage, try a new cocktail, go beachcombing, relax, read, go shopping (Suva or Sigatoka), plantation walks and walks to our amazing lookout. Kevu will also take you to visit a beautiful waterfall (along with a Fijian adventure getting there), visit the Kula Eco Park or visit the village ……there’s lots or nothing …….again….it’s up to you!! Believe me – you won’t feel left out! Our staff all come from the local village and the opportunity to absorb Fijian culture and the way off life is always available – try Kava with the locals or hear the beautiful singing at the church service – you will see the real Fiji!

What our guests say –
‘Dear Donna & Brian, the delightful company and very special place made our stay. We were only here for a few days and the weather was not really on our side and Matanivusi still shone through. Great staff, terrific food.’
Cheers to all & good surfing. Rod & Lesley Ashron, Bermagui NSW Australia

‘Bula Brian & Donna
Thank you so much for providing a peaceful and serene paradise, a place to unwind and let out of the crowded thoughts bred from city living. The place you have built is a gorgeous haven inside a lush natural gem. I’ll miss Sadie, mahogany floors, night crackers, chilli sauce, surf lessons, honey soy chicken, lovo nights, kava nights and all of the kindness and family spirit that made this place the medicine I needed.
Best & Good Luck,’

‘To Brian & Donna and all the crew
We had an absolute fabulous time here. You guys are great hosts and nothing was a problem to you to do for us. All the staff are the best helpful, friendly and all round great people. Was the best holiday we ever had. The food was great and the kids were never bored. On all our trips out Kevu always made sure we were looked after. Walter, Tony, Lesi and all the rest gave us five star service with a laugh. We will be recommending this resort to all that we know.’

‘Donna & Brian & Matanivusi Crew,
We just wanted to thank you for the most wonderful and original vacation we have ever been on! From the people to the food to the surfing! Everything was excellent. I think our favourite part is the warm family atmosphere and always feeling so welcome. Thanks again for the best 40th birthday present a guy could ask for!
Love, Mark & Susan’
‘Dear Brian, Donna & all the wonderful friendly staff at Matanivusi,

‘Dear Donna, Brian & Staff
Thank you so much for such a magnificent time at your resort. On the 2nd day here Laney remarked that it felt as if we were staying with friends at a friend’s house, not at a resort. And this sums up both our feelings. You have all come to feel like family over the past 10 days and we are so sad to say GOODBYE.
Thank you for the laughs, memories and most of all the most perfect wedding imaginable!! We will be back soon!!
Lots of love,
Nick & Laney Brown’, Australia
