With the longest and most consistent left in the area straight out front, the location of Damai bungalows makes it the perfect base to explore South Sumatra’s coastline.
Prices from $35 AUD per night includes 3 meals per day.
The bungalows are owned and run by the locals ensuring your cultural experience throughout. Satellite TV, billiards and table tennis tables, and its own Indo style fishing boat for hire there is plenty to see and do.
The accommodation at Damai Bungalows consists of 6 twin share rooms accommodating 12 people. Facilities in the rooms include western flush toilets, king single beds with all linen and mosquito nets provided, ceiling fans, private indoor and outdoor bathrooms including a rain shower set amongst river stones and your own indoor private garden.
Every bungalow is lockable and comes with its own verandah. At Damai bungalows the common area is a 2 storey open air pavilion with a bar and hammocks so you can relax after a surf and check the sunset.
It is possible to get waves here all year round with the best time being the dry season May through to September. The south Sumatran coast offers surfers a variety of barrelling left & right reef breaks, softer reef breaks as well as endless beachies and of course the long left point straight out front of the camp can run off for over 200 metres.
